Like Christmas Morning

I returned from a holiday trip, exhausted by holiday activities (late nights, dancing, drinking) and travel – by land, air, and sea, to a more than pleasant surprise. A large box was on my doorstep, which turned out to be the shipment of books I requested to place in local bookstores, coffee shops, a winery or two. The books are, of course, In Between Drinks.
Opening the box was like Christmas morning when I was a kid. I held a few in my hand, feeling good! A touch of magic, yet also grateful to so many people in my life that inspired the stories in my book. This was a lifelong dream, achieved. Too bad my parents are not around to see it, know it, and be happy for me. Maybe even a little bit proud, themselves.
That was that. The next day I started going about the business at hand, promoting the book. And also, writing my next book. Now that I see the path to publishing and how it works, I plan to write 3-4 days a week, minimum. I have three books in the works, including a sequel to In Between Drinks. We’ll see how it goes.
Meanwhile, the book is selling, and I’m getting early (mostly positive) feedback from readers that know me.
I have my first speaking engagement about the book, at a local social/networking club, later this month. And will hopefully be setting some book signing events at bookstores and local wineries. For those that have purchased my book, thank you for the support.
And with much gratitude to Palmetto Publishing! Their team was great to work with.
